Dr Elizabeth Carter qualified from Nottingham University in 1987. Her interests include Diabetes, women’s health and prescribing.

Dr Stuart Thomas qualified from Birmingham University in 1989. He has an interest in cardiovascular disease, child health and minor surgery.

Dr Sarah Percy


Dr Sarah Percy qualified from the University of London in 2002. Her interests include women’s health, child health, contraception and minor operations.

Dr Jonathan Barnsley qualified from the University of Manchester in 2001. His interests include diabetes, gastroenterology, respiratory medicine and minor surgery.

Dr Veenu Kaushik qualified from Manchester University in 2004. Her interests include Family Planning, women’s health. She is able to fit coils and contraception implants.

Advanced Nurse Practitioners

Rachael Slater

Masters Level Clinical examination and diagnosis in Healthcare attending Chester University. Masters level in Prescribing. Nursing Degree and Diploma.

Rachael has worked at the Urgent Care Centre and Medical Assessment Unit within Leighton Hospital. She has experience working in NHS Direct, Respiratory wards and is a qualified baby/child swimming instructor. She has a keen interest in DVTs, Cellulitis, and Renal colic.

Jane Martin

RGN Bsc PG cert non-medical prescribing

Qualified at QE in Birmingham in 1984. Specialist Practitioner degree at Chester in 2008. Additional qualifications in contraception and sexual health, respiratory disease and osteoporosis.

Peter Mayes

Qualified as a Paramedic in 2006 and worked in a variety of clinical settings including front line emergency services, emergency departments and out of hours. Completed BSc (hon's) advanced clinical practice in 2011, Independent prescriber. Currently studying towards masters degree.


Beth Lincoln

Since qualifying from Manchester University with first class honours in 2016, Beth began her nursing career in the Macclesfield Accident & Emergency department. Since joining our team Beth has taken a keen interest in wound management, cytology and asthma management.

Sharon Miles

RGN, ENB practice nurse course, ENB diabetes

Qualified at QE in Birmingham in 1982. Sr Miles did a Specialist Practice nurse course in 1992. and a Specialist diabetes course in 1998,. She has worked at Readesmoor Surgery since 1990 as a practice nurse.

Liz Johnson

RGN, RM, Practice nurse course

Qualified at N.M.H in 1982. Registered Midwife in 1984, Completed Practice nurse course 1992 at North Staffs, Integrated Approaches to diabetic management in 2003, and has been at Readesmoor surgery as a practice nurse since 1992.

Freya Hunter

Practice Nurse - Qualified From Sheffield Hallam University in 2011, Leg Ulcer Management qualification in 2017 from Manchester Metropolitan University. Has an interest in wound care management and Cytology. Enjoys walking and running with the dog.

Ella Blinkhorn

NVQ level 3 Health and Social Care

Ella started her career in 2012 at Macclesfield District General Hospital working throughout radiology and the Medical Assessment Unit whilst completing her NVQ level 3 Health and Social care at Macclesfield College which led her to Intermediate care. In 2015 she completed her Access to nursing course level and joined the practice here in August 2017. She is currently running Treatment room clinics, assisting with LARC and Minor Operation clinics and completing NHS health checks.

Sian Bollans

Achieved a distinction in 2012 in Health and Social Care level 3 BTEC National Diploma. Completed the first year of student adult nursing in 2019, since then worked in care homes as well as bank work at Leighton hospital before starting role at Readesmoor in December 2019. Enjoy spending time with family and friends, walking French bulldog Joey in spare time.
